For the next couple of weeks we will be checking out some homes in the most expensive zip codes in the United Says, up today, 94920 . This zip code is in the Bay Area of Northern California encompassing Tiburon and Belvedere. This wealthy seaside enclave has a median price of $2,192,000 and a healthy appreciation rate of 282% since 1990. We’ve highlighted a variety of homes in the area before including the Belvedere home belonging to businessman Tom Perkins and Andre Agassi’s Tiburon estate.
Tiburon incorporates most of the TIburon Peninsula in Marin County, California and the city of Belvedere occupies the south-east part of the peninsula. The most pricey estate in this zip code is an 8.5 acre estate listed at $38.5 million. The home I chose for today’s example is a less expensive but very charming. The compound on the water includes a main house and a two-bedroom guest house, a smaller one-bedroom boat house and there’s a one-bedroom, one-bath au pair suite above the three-car garage. The home with gorgeous seaside views is listed at $11.5 million.

A large chunk of land in California’s Santa Ynez valley has been carved into huge ranch property. The Ranches at Figueroa Canyon are five ranches being being offered for sale. Four architects are designing conceptual main home and ranch site plans, each tailored to specific ranch properties: Howard Backen of Backen Gillam Architects based in Sausalito and St. Helena, California; Barry Berkus of B3 Architects and Berkus Design Studio in Santa Barbara, California and Scottsdale, Arizona; Jonathan Foote, Architect in Tucson, Arizona and Livingston, Montana; and David Leavengood of Leavengood Architects in Seattle, Washington.
Each architect will provide a conceptual design for one of the ranch properties, covering the main ranch house and a site plan for ancillary buildings such as a ranch manager’s residence, guest house, barns, entry or pool. Buyers may opt to work with the architect who provided the conceptual plans for their ranch, select one of the other Preferred Architects or choose an architect outside of the Preferred Architects Program.
The Ranches at Figueroa Canyon range from 187 to 1,176 acres and each has one or more legal parcels served by water and utilities. The areas were traditionally used for cattle ranching but could now be home to vineyards and equestrian facilities, as well as a private residence. The five ranches - College Ranch, Ranger Peak Ranch, Vista Largo Ranch, Corrales Creek Ranch and Lost Trail Ranch - range from $6 million to $24.5 million.
