“Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day. It asks you, ‘Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong this day?’” - Peter Maher

We are all wimps about something. For some, it’s maybe spiders, or snakes. One of the girls in my office won’t go anywhere near any kind of bug. Makes living in Iowa a tiny bit of a challenge (good thing she doesn’t live in Florida with the “palmetto bugs” (aka cockroaches)!

I’m wimpy about flying. It’s not my favorite thing to do - stuck in a box flying through the air at 30,000 feet in the air at a speed of over 500 miles an hour. Makes me nuts just to think of it.

But most things I’m not a wimp about. I love public talking, and I do it well. I am not afraid to speak to strange people, don’t mind most bugs, and I have the ability to deal with stray animals (carefully). I believ that being strong is a matter of “mind over matter.”

I’m also a whole lot less of a wimp at 60 than I was even at 50.  Life is a gamble; we don’t know how much time we’ve, so why not care about it.  I’m not planning on bungee jumping or sky diving, but maybe some day….

What do you think? What are you wimpy about? What are you strong about?
